Empowered Minds Blog/Purpose and Destiny/Breaking Free From Your Comfort Zone

I am writing to you from San Francisco Airport after arriving from Las Vegas. I’m just about to catch the red-eye, 14-hour flight back to Brisbane, so I thought I’d write this quick blog before I go.

You know, sometimes the most courageous decisions we make in life come when we trust our gut instinct and just go for it.
Or is it because we are undeniably silly?

I recently took a leap of faith and flew solo to Las Vegas to rub shoulders with some of the most influential and inspiring people on this planet.
Was I a little afraid at first? Hell yes. (You can see it in my eyes in the above picture.) I don’t like to admit it, but when you attend one of the world’s largest summits (with over 5,000 people) for entrepreneurs and business owners, in one of the craziest cities in the world—boy, was it crazy—it's bound to stir up inevitable butterflies and fear in the pit of your stomach.

Yes, even Tony Robbins made his impressionable appearance with his high-fives and over-the-top voice. Honestly, I’m not usually into all that hype, but I gotta tell you, there was some energy in that room that you just can’t fake. Before I knew it, I was hollering and whooping as the energy took over me. Did it feel silly? Kinda. But you don’t care so much when everyone else looks like they’re about to explode with excitement.

It made me feel fantastic, that’s for sure—something many people can’t or won’t experience due to their closed-mindedness and harsh critiques of what’s truly good for them.

I am so glad that I made the leap. It was like an inner calling I had just a month ago. Deep down, I knew it was the right thing to do.

Am I reassuring myself that I made the right choice (considering it wasn’t cheap!!!)? Absolutely. At the beginning, I was tearing my hair out, thinking, This ain’t no cheap vacation, buddy! as I nervously booked the airfare and hotel—right in the middle of the Vegas Strip!

But the experience and the contacts I made through networking were priceless. No computer or phone could ever replace that.

I met some of the most incredible people from around the world—people who also broke free from their comfort zones, faced their fears, and just did it.

So ask yourself, What’s holding me back from going after what I want in life? Are you stuck in a bubble, conforming to the status quo of society?

Oops, there goes the boarding announcement for my flight. I gotta go!

Stay happy,
Justin
